Checking the System Health

To check the system:

  1. Click Maintenance Commands.

  2. Enter the following commands: 

  3. SHOW STATUS RESOURCE - Provides diagnostic information for use in troubleshooting a system that is running slow or overloaded. You can also refer to the Administration > System Information page in Server Manager for information on system resource usage (Not applicable to Container-based MiVoice Business (cMiVB)).

  4. SHOW ST AL - Checks for system alarms. There should be no alarms. 

  5. DBMS STAT - Checks the status of the initialized flag. The flag should be on if the system is in sync. If the flag is off, enter the DBMS Save command. 

  6. PROG R DIS - Displays the scheduled system reset. To force a system reboot at the scheduled time, see the Programmed Reboot command.

  7. ME S - Checks the status of the communication links. All links should be open. 

  8. PCM TO - Checks for circuit switch link faults. There should be no faults.

  9. DBMS CH B or F: Brief checks the sanity of the database. Full checks the sanity and the current status of the database.

  1. Click Maintenance Logs Error to check for error logs or click Maintenance Logs - All to see all maintenance logs.

  1. If System Data Synchronization (SDS) is enabled, check for failed data distribution updates and, if necessary, resolve them.

  2. Check that you have recent back-ups of the database and hard drive.

NOTE: You should make a backup at least once a week. Keep a copy of the last 3 backups.
